Pretzels? Peanuts? What else goes good with those ales and lagers?

Here are some serving facts about beer:

Light ales and lagers should be well chilled (7 °C/45 °F)

Wheat beer should be chilled (8 °C/47 °F)

Dark lagers should be lightly chilled (9 °C/48 °F)

Regular British ale, stout and Belgian specialties should be cellar temperature (13 °C/55 °F)

Strong dark ales should be room temperature (15.5 °C/60 °F)

Most popular types of beer and what they go well with:

Light ales, light lagers, blond or gold ales go great with spicy food.

Wheat beers go well with dessert. Citrus style desserts bring out their lemon/orange and spice flavors.

Brown ale goes quite well with a brown mushroom gravy over chicken.

Amber ale goes great with pizza and medium spicy foods.

Dry Stouts and porter are excellent with a good hearty soup/stew or a meat dish with brown gravy.

Pilsner is the right choice to go with fish or shellfish. It can also be good with fried or spicy food.

And, to add a little nostaligia to it all...

The world's oldest known recipe is a recipe for beer.
